The government authority in Greeley, Colorado is seeking a qualified vendor to provide geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services for site development projects. The scope of work includes the preparation of a comprehensive Subsurface Exploration Report that will identify soil types, swell potential, bedrock depth, moisture/density conditions, and groundwater depth. Geotechnical recommendations are required for the design and construction of foundations, floor slabs, and pavement for parking lots and driveways. Brief follow-up reports are also to be provided for each groundwater measurement interval, with optional recommendations for foundation and pavement design criteria as supported by test results.
Services will entail conducting subsurface soil explorations with borings that reach depths of approximately 30 feet beneath site grades in building areas, and 15 feet in parking lot areas. Diagrams indicating boring locations, preferably with GPS coordinates, and detailed field logs describing soil layers encountered must be provided. The selected geotechnical firm will coordinate with relevant agency personnel, the Owner’s Representative, and the Design Team for both new facility planning and site redevelopment. Proposals should outline a lump sum for initial and supplemental soil reports, unit pricing for drill rig mobilization, and additional borings if required. The contract will be awarded for a period of one year.
