The agency seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive full stack WordPress web development services. Responsibilities include conducting a thorough assessment of existing websites, offering actionable feedback for improvements, and collaborating with the hosting vendor, Pantheon. The selected developer will support the agency’s web environment across design, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security—working closely with the agency web services team.
Key duties involve supporting DevOps processes (including testing, deployment/release management, and uptime troubleshooting), setting up and tuning monitoring systems such as Thousand Eyes, New Relic, and SolarWinds, and configuring and maintaining the WordPress CMS with a strong focus on security and performance. The vendor will manage version control for WordPress core, themes, and third-party plugins, ensure regular database maintenance and backups, and provide reports on status, performance measures, and retrospectives. Additional expectations include ensuring cross-platform compatibility, responsive design, performance optimization, communicating technology impacts to decision makers, and maintaining high standards in security, maintenance, and scalability in all solutions developed. Detailed knowledge of WordPress security, including plugin security, is required. The contract period is one year.
