The government authority in Montclair, New Jersey seeks a qualified vendor to provide forensic auditing services for the 2023–2024 fiscal year. Services will include a thorough review of budgeted versus actual positions and salary expenditures, as well as the examination and analysis of financial records such as general ledgers, bank statements, investment accounts, payroll records, and accounts payable documentation.
The selected firm will identify and investigate potential irregularities, including fraud, waste, abuse, misappropriation of funds, and non-compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. The scope also encompasses assessment and evaluation of internal controls, tracing transactions for proper authorization and reconciliation, detailed contract and records review particularly relating to transportation, and conducting interviews with personnel to corroborate findings.
At the conclusion of the process, the vendor will prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the audit findings, with a focus on any identified irregularities, weaknesses in internal controls, and recommendations for corrective actions.
