The US Army DEVCOM Soldier Center is seeking potential sources for the development of Fog Tester Instrument Image Analysis Software. The goal is to enhance existing LabVIEW software by creating an improved application that integrates seamlessly with the FogTester instrument control and data acquisition software. This new solution should automate and simplify the process of analyzing video images from anti-fog eyewear tests, replacing current manual plotting and assessment methods with a more streamlined, quantitative, and user-friendly approach.
The improved application should analyze post-test acquired video images from dual cameras, generate contrast ratio values by selected regions of interest, and plot these values over the test duration—delivering reliable pass/fail results based on haze calibration criteria. Required features include Haze Standard calibration image acquisition, the ability to zero the contrast ratio at the test’s start, and communication with the FogTester application via TCP port. The software must be compatible with Windows 11 and allow data export compatible with Word and Excel. Acceptable programming languages include LabVIEW, .NET (C#, Visual Basic), or Python, with others considered upon approval. The contract also calls for a post-test image analysis sub-program to automate calibration test analysis and generate calibration files for further evaluation.
The government will provide operational diagrams, example data, and access to current LabVIEW software or a Python simulation if necessary. Interested parties are encouraged to identify their delivery capabilities, with an anticipated lead time of four weeks.
