The state of Montana is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive fire station alerting system for deployment across multiple fire stations. The required solution must integrate seamlessly with the Motorola Solutions FLEX CAD (Computer–Aided Dispatch) system and interface with the County’s digital radio network and existing operational infrastructure. Key objectives include enhancing turnout times, promoting firefighter health and wellness, streamlining communications, and ensuring the system is scalable to support future growth.
The alerting system should feature rapid, simultaneous, and stacked alerting, automated voice dispatch with station-level TTS backup, zoned alerting, and redundant radio alerting capabilities. Additional requirements include remote or mobile alerting for personnel, full centralized configuration, monitoring and maintenance, as well as red LED bunkroom lighting for nighttime responses. The system must use centralized POE and low–voltage infrastructure such as CAT5e/CAT6 wiring, incorporate existing cabling where feasible, and provide uninterrupted power supply to all devices. It should also be bandwidth-efficient, using only 30–50 kb for alerting. A minimum capacity to support at least 10 stations or facilities with modular scalability is required, along with customizable, heart-friendly alerting features such as escalating audio and subdued lighting.
