DESCRIPTION

The government authority located in South Hadley, Massachusetts is seeking a vendor to provide fiber optic internet and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone customer services. As these services are critical utilities, the vendor will be responsible for ensuring reliable internet and phone connectivity for customers.

The scope includes supporting the agency's Network Engineer during outages, providing rapid emergency outside plant maintenance for fiber breaks, and performing both aerial and underground repair work. The vendor must conduct optical diagnostic testing using a calibrated optical power meter at various network points, including the Fiber Distribution Center (FDC), Network Interface Device (NID), Optical Network Terminal (ONT), and intermediate splice points. Aerial fiber work on utility poles will require the use of a bucket truck.

The contractor will provide and install Calix-brand ONTs and routers inside customer premises, connecting the drop fiber from the NID and delivering both Wi-Fi and wired services to customer devices such as televisions, computers, and voice adapters. The contract is for a one-year term. There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for March 31, 2026.
