The selected vendor will lead and manage a comprehensive farmland access program within the county, focusing on expanding opportunities for active agricultural use. Responsibilities include identifying strategically significant farmland parcels and prioritizing them for targeted landowner outreach and engagement efforts. The vendor will establish and nurture relationships with key landowner groups, such as aging farmers, multigenerational landholders, absentee owners, and others influential in the long-term preservation of local agriculture.
Additionally, the provider will design and implement educational initiatives, practical tools, and direct assistance to help landowners transition farmland back into active farming and secure long-term tenure for local farmers. Support will also be given to landowners in developing and marketing lease listings that are engaging, accessible, and inclusive for diverse farmer populations.
The role further involves strengthening regional collaboration through information sharing and alignment among public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups with the shared goal of increasing farmland access and agricultural viability. Coordination with regional government agencies and nonprofit partners is necessary to ensure that outreach materials and messaging are aligned, accurate, and supportive of existing efforts.
