DESCRIPTION

The selected vendor will deliver comprehensive fare inspector ambassador program services to ensure effective and visible fare inspection coverage across designated vehicles and facilities of the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), such as train platforms and transit centers. The program focuses on educating riders about fare requirements and encouraging compliance through professional, non-escalatory engagement, while reducing fare evasion through systematic inspection operations.

Ambassadors will serve as uniformed representatives who provide basic wayfinding and system information, assist riders with fare machines and mobile ticketing, and direct individuals to appropriate customer service resources as needed. The service includes accurate, real-time or near-real-time operational data recording related to inspections, fare compliance, incidents, and interactions, with secure storage and role-based access for data management. This initiative aims to enhance rider confidence, improve safety, and support system planning with comprehensive performance data.
