DESCRIPTION

The County of Wisconsin seeks a qualified vendor to provide Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration services. The chosen provider will handle the full scope of leave management, including intake, certification, designation, tracking, detailed case management, and return-to-work coordination. The goal is to deliver consistent, compliant, and efficient administration of all FMLA requests, thereby reducing administrative burdens and minimizing legal risks for the County.

Essential service requirements include the operation of a customer service call center and help desk with bilingual capabilities, a strong customer service orientation for both employees and management, and the proven ability to manage high volumes of leave requests efficiently. Vendors must offer comprehensive, user-friendly reporting tools and an automated, web-based platform for managing leave tracking, employee communications, and all related functions. Additional requirements include electronic or phone-based systems for employees to request leave, prompt notification and correspondence about FMLA approvals or denials, and maintenance of robust data backup, system security, and disaster recovery plans.

The provider will also be expected to advise the County on potential FMLA abuse or compliance issues, contributing to the establishment of best practices in absence management. The initial contract term is for three years.
