DESCRIPTION
The government authority in New York is seeking vendors to provide comprehensive fiber construction and network maintenance services for the Excelsior Broadband Network. The scope of work includes the installation of approximately 155.30 miles of 864–count fiber optic cable, utilizing an existing spare conduit, a mix of new and existing handholes, and existing regeneration buildings.
Vendors will be responsible for inspection and proofing services, fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and acceptance testing. The contract also covers the installation of new regeneration building equipment, handholes, splice enclosures, as well as ongoing network maintenance. Maintenance responsibilities include fiber management, keeping accurate records of new fiber locations, endpoints, and splicing, as well as updating fiber inventory and as-built documentation. Inspection services and conduit proofing are also required as part of this agreement. The initial contract period will be three years.
