The State of California is seeking a qualified vendor to provide an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system. The primary objectives include implementing a new, flexible chart of accounts to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
The ERP system should streamline workflow approvals within the system, offering temporary delegation options for out-of-office approvers, and significantly reduce reliance on spreadsheets at departmental and divisional levels for tracking budgets, spending, grants, and projects. Additional requirements include supporting decentralized direct entry, automating data integration, standardizing organizational processes, and expanding system usage beyond finance, IT, and HR staff.
Key features should include the retention of transactional documentation within the ERP, reduction of redundant processes, user-friendly data analysis and querying, comprehensive dashboards and reporting tools for Finance and other departments, and the ability to implement budget controls at various organizational levels. Both employee and vendor self-service portals, enhanced reporting capabilities, and real-time visibility into transaction status are also essential to the solution. The contract is expected to cover a one-year period.
