SUMMARY

Mississippi seeks a vendor for an enterprise high-availability next-generation firewall solution with advanced security, integration, and management features.

DESCRIPTION

The State of Mississippi is seeking a vendor to provide an enterprise-grade, high-availability next-generation firewall solution designed for robust security and seamless integration. The proposed appliance must incorporate proprietary hardware acceleration to enhance performance during intensive security operations.

Key requirements for the solution include integration within a comprehensive security ecosystem, ensuring effective collaboration among devices such as network switches, management consoles, and analytical tools. The firewall should support granular virtual domain segmentation, allowing physical resources to be partitioned into multiple, fully independent virtual domains. Additionally, the device must provide dedicated management for integrated switches and wireless access points using specialized onboard hardware.

The solution should go beyond basic firewall capabilities, offering advanced threat protection integration—such as compatibility with sandboxing and dynamic threat analysis systems—and features like data loss prevention, embedded identity and data protection controls, and an inline cloud access security broker. Other expectations include secure web proxy services with intelligent caching, real-time video filtering via deep packet inspection and application controls, support for flow or proxy mode on a per-rule basis, load balancing, web application firewall, and a free remote access VPN. The vendor is also expected to provide an extensive library of free online, self-paced training courses and automation capabilities to further empower network security teams.
