Defense Health Agency
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
This Request for Information (RFI) seeks vendors capable of providing an enterprise dental imaging picture archiving and communication system to modernize and standardize the management of dental imaging data across a global network. The desired system should facilitate the seamless capture, storage, retrieval, display, and sharing of dental imaging data, ensuring integration with the Military Health System electronic health record. It must support a wide array of dental services, including veterinary care, and accommodate specialized clinical workflows.
Key requirements include full interoperability in heterogeneous environments, cybersecurity measures and strict access controls, as well as robust performance in disconnected or limited connectivity situations. The system needs to support up to 7,500 patients per day, handling data from 1 kilobyte to 2 gigabytes per patient. It must support virtualization (e.g., Docker, VMWare), be cloud-enabled for hybrid on-premises/cloud data storage, and provide access through an FDA-approved web-based dental imaging viewer.
Further expectations are integration with electronic health records, advanced workflow management features, support for data migration and archiving, API compatibility, and robust modality and vendor integration. The solution should also prioritize data integrity, lifecycle management, and enterprise-scale governance to support future innovations and analytics initiatives.
