The government authority located in San Jose, California is seeking a qualified vendor to provide engineers of record services in both mechanical and electrical engineering domains. The responsibilities include conducting drawing peer reviews for various phases of design, including feasibility studies, and preparing mechanical and electrical assessments along with comprehensive reporting. The scope encompasses creating basis of design documents, feasibility studies, owner project requirements, and corresponding drawings as needed. Budgeting, estimating, and intricate analysis such as detailed heating and cooling load calculations for mechanical components, and total electrical load analysis and sizing, are integral elements of the project.
Mechanical engineering services will involve equipment selection; designing system layouts including ductwork, piping, and air/fluid distribution systems; and developing engineering documents using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit. Coordination with architects and other engineering disciplines is required to ensure proper integration of systems. Vendors must also be able to troubleshoot and address system failures or performance issues in existing facilities.
Electrical engineering services will require mapping power distribution from the utility service entrance through to end-use outlets, including transformer and distribution panel placement, and ensuring systems are efficiently sized. Interdisciplinary collaboration and the capacity to generate comprehensive reports and estimations are essential. All questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by March 31, 2026.
