The government authority in Plano, Texas is seeking engineering services for the design and implementation of a wrong-way driving system at exit ramps and selected main lane locations along designated corridors. The scope of work includes the development of wrong-way detection and warning systems, as well as modifications or additions to the existing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) infrastructure.
Key tasks involve geotechnical assessments, field surveying, creation of traffic control plans including detours and construction sequencing, installation of longitudinal barriers, and establishment of wrong-way detection infrastructure. The selected vendor will also be responsible for collecting and reviewing field data such as terrain analysis, utility locates, infrastructure constraints, power availability, drainage structures, clear zone requirements, and existing infrastructure.
The contract period for this project will be three years. Interested vendors must submit any questions regarding the RFP by May 11, 2026, and a pre-submittal conference is scheduled for May 6, 2026.
