City Of Spartanburg
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
The government authority in Spartanburg, South Carolina is seeking a vendor to provide engineering design, construction, and project management services for the development of energy-resilient microgrids at the local airport. These microgrids are intended to enhance community safety by ensuring the airport remains fully operational during power outages and severe weather events, which previously required temporary generator solutions with unreliable continuity for critical systems.
The scope includes replacing emergency rental generators with permanent solar and battery storage infrastructure to maintain all airport critical functions. Key operational components supported by the new microgrid will be the airport terminal and runway lighting, local terminal transformer, aviation radio communications, weather observation systems (AWOS), POS systems, navigation beacon, floor terminal lighting, WiFi and internet services, and charging stations for emergency communication devices.
This project aims to provide a sustainable, reliable power solution that supports ongoing airport operations as well as the needs of emergency and community response organizations.
