The agency is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive emergency medical billing services for a five-year contract period. The selected vendor will be responsible for processing, invoicing, and collecting costs associated with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), including managing collections for past due invoices. Comprehensive services must include all labor, materials, and technology required to obtain missing patient information from all available sources before filing insurance claims or issuing direct patient billing.
The vendor must supply a Customer Service Representative to assist patients and third-party payers with all billing inquiries. All insurance claims should be filed electronically, and direct patient billing must be mailed within two business days after confirmation of run ticket information. The contractor is also required to provide ongoing regular updates and annual training sessions for agency staff that cover changes in billing requirements, industry best practices, and ongoing compliance with healthcare laws and regulations. Training will focus on clinical documentation, billing compliance, and the promotion of continuous improvement in performance.
