DESCRIPTION

The government authority in California seeks a consultant to provide technical assistance related to electrification reach codes. The selected consultant will research state and local building codes that are pertinent to building electrification and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, with an emphasis on developing representative models or foundations for local model reach codes.

The scope of work includes examining code-based and non-code-based strategies, such as incentive programs and in-lieu fees, to inform building electrification policies. The consultant will also coordinate with relevant regional and statewide organizations conducting similar reach code activities. Key deliverables involve identifying tools and processes for the adoption and implementation of electrification codes, conducting EV cost-effectiveness analyses, and supporting model code updates and refinements.

Questions concerning the project must be submitted by March 20, 2026.
