DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Kingston, Ontario seeks a vendor to provide elder helper programming services supporting Indigenous offenders within federal institutions. The primary goal is to facilitate traditional healing and contemporary treatment interventions by assisting elders and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper traditional protocols are observed when offenders and staff approach elders, maintaining an adequate supply of ceremonial materials, coordinating and supervising offenders during ceremonies, and performing ceremonies in the absence of elders with their agreement.
