The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking contractors to perform significant EHRM (Electronic Health Record Modernization) infrastructure upgrades at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, located at 800 Irving Ave, Syracuse, NY. This project entails preparing the site for construction, which includes demolition and removal of existing structures as needed, in order to facilitate extensive improvements to the facility’s technology and physical infrastructure.
The scope of work covers the upgrading of fiber infrastructure throughout all buildings and IT closets, installation of redundant fiber runs and mains, and the provision of Cat 6A cabling from IT closets to all required points of use. The contractor will also be responsible for installing additional IT and electrical outlets across the facility, upgrading the power distribution system (including uninterruptible power supplies), and improving HVAC distribution as needed. Additional tasks include the enhancement of physical security measures, hazardous materials abatement, and the new construction of a Data Center server room. The upgrades will encompass Buildings 1, 2, 16, the Rome Community–Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), and related site facilities.
This project will be delivered as a competitive, firm-fixed-price contract using a design–bid–build approach, with final specifications and drawings provided to qualified bidders.
