SUMMARY

Seeking services for hosting, installation, maintenance, and support of a Moodle LMS platform for e-learning courses accessible in South Africa and internationally.

DESCRIPTION

A service provider is sought to deliver hosting, installation, maintenance, and support for an E-Learning Moodle application platform. The main objectives include deploying the most stable open-source version of Moodle LMS for facilitated and open eLearning courses, accessible to both public and private sector learners in South Africa and internationally via the internet. The solution must be cloud-based and scalable, with hosting infrastructure provisioned prior to installation.

The selected vendor will be responsible for the installation of identified Moodle plugins on a time and material basis as defined in the Service Level Agreement. Ongoing responsibilities include deployment and updates of Moodle plugins, troubleshooting and resolving code-related and application-layer database issues, and escalating server-level matters to the infrastructure provider. Integration support for the uMngeni Water Services Information System and identification of Moodle-level security risks are also required.

Additionally, the vendor will provide application-layer incident response and reporting, advise on web application firewall behaviors, administer the Moodle platform including first and second-line support, and deliver application-focused Moodle administration training to relevant staff. Comprehensive support for learning activities and assessments is also expected.
