The City seeks a qualified vendor to provide, optimize, and maintain ongoing support for the police communications center’s existing Avtec public safety phone and radio system. Support services must include 24/7/365 response for unexpected malfunctions related to Avtec systems, as well as associated radio and phone systems. The vendor must also deliver integration support for the city’s Cisco Unified CM phone system and Eventide logging recorder.
The selected firm will be responsible for evaluating the current Avtec systems, recommending and implementing optimization improvements, and creating a project schedule for these activities. Training for Albany Police Communications Center front line employees is required, including user training and annual software support for all new users and administrative features. Ongoing responsibilities include software support during and after deployment of new software versions, facilitating successful launches, and providing timely, stable system upgrades.
The vendor should also be prepared to assist with the future implementation of an approved Avtec phone system and must develop and deliver training materials as new features become available. The contract is anticipated to last five years.
