DESCRIPTION

The government authority located in Washington, DC is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Facilities must comply with all local and federal housing and building codes, as well as all applicable licensing and operational requirements specific to youth residential facilities and independent living programs set forth by the District.

Vendors are required to offer culturally competent services, ensuring that staff are knowledgeable and respectful of the families' cultures, reinforce positive cultural practices, and leverage ethnic, socio-cultural, and linguistic strengths. A focus on providing a community-based support system is essential to enhance the well-being of youth and families, minimize trauma associated with foster care separation, and facilitate reunification with natural families or kin when possible.

Services must also be linguistically competent, with staff fluent in the languages spoken by the children and families served or through arrangements with qualified providers. The contract duration will be for one year, and a pre-proposal conference is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
