DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Washington, D.C. seeks a vendor to deliver design-build exterior expansion joint replacement and façade restoration services. The comprehensive project includes design, acquiring permits and licenses, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, management of requests for information, substitutions and change requests, addressing existing conditions, specifying materials and trades, ensuring safety and public access, conducting on-site inspections, restoration and site cleanup, construction material storage and removal, submitting closeout documentation, as well as final testing and detailing.

Construction will be conducted in phased zones to maintain safe pedestrian circulation, uphold ADA compliance, and ensure uninterrupted access to buildings and public areas throughout all work stages. The selected contractor is responsible for all hoisting, scaffolding, and rigging required for the tasks.

Scope of work involves primary installation of Emseal–Roof Joint assembly in the structural slab opening per manufacturer’s guidelines, removing deteriorated expansion joints and backer material from vertical expansion joints, thoroughly cleaning joint faces for optimal adhesion, verifying uniform joint gaps, and ensuring substrates are free of defects. The contractor should eliminate any excess epoxy or silicone from the surrounding façade panels and properly dispose of debris.
