A government authority in Newnan, Georgia is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for the remodel and expansion of a fire station. The selected firm will develop design and construction documents, including specifications detailed enough to advance to the construction phase. Upon approval of their initial designs, the design team will begin further development and proceed with the creation of full construction documents.
The scope of work includes preparing schematic designs with site plans, structural plans, floor plans, and elevations, taking into account the 2023 concept plan and avoiding duplicative efforts. The firm will be expected to address unresolved issues and alternatives from prior planning phases. Design plans and preliminary construction cost estimates must be prepared and presented at 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% completion intervals.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing and approving shop drawings and material/product data for alignment with design intent, maintaining detailed documentation of design clarifications and changes, and verifying that completed work matches the design specifications.
