Design project according to current MDOT Federal-Aid project standards
Design plans according to AASHTO and/or 3R/4R guidelines
Prepare and submit necessary permits to Public Works Office, EGLE, and MDOT
Furnish all services and labor for Construction Engineering Services
Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with MDOT standard construction practices, contract documents, and manuals
Ensure personnel performing inspection and testing have appropriate certification and level
Utilize MDOT ProjectWise Explorer and AASHTOWare or FieldManager software, keeping it current
Be accountable for all quality assurance activities
Possess a valid NRC license (or recognized Agreement State license) for portable nuclear density gauges
Provide MDOT RSO with a copy of the NRC license
Comply with Title 10 (Energy) and 49 (Transportation) rules and regulations
Assign a MDEQ certified NPDES Storm Water Operator for inspection and documentation
Ensure personnel making changes to soil erosion measures have completed Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training
Compile and distribute meeting minutes to SCRC staff
Prepare base plan geometrics, program application, and Engineer's Estimate of probable cost for SCRC submittal
Submit TS&L plans followed by Grade Inspection (GI) plans per MDOT requirements
Complete and submit final plans, specifications, and estimates to MDOT and SCRC
Submit all correspondence and project documents digitally using MDOT ProjectWise Software
Prepare and submit any necessary Design Exceptions to MDOT
Be prepared to attend and participate in public information, township board, and Road Commission meetings
Provide information to satisfy Work Zone Mobility requirements
Provide Soil Erosion Control Plans consistent with Rule 1703 of Part 91
Attend GI Meeting and progress meetings
Provide daily updates to project manager and project engineer
Provide laptop computers (or equivalent) with Field Manager and/or Field Book software for daily inspection reports
Provide Troxler Density Gauge or other approved density gauge
Provide concrete equipment (Roll-O-Meter, Acme or Pres-Ur Air Meter)
Perform all staking per MDOT standards
Provide inspection of Contractor field construction work, quality assurance sampling/testing, and confirm conformance with Specifications, Plans, and Proposal
Complete final inspection of all work
Accept the Project upon verification of performance in accordance with plans and specifications
Conduct quality assurance sampling/testing of materials (Portland cement concrete, bituminous mixtures, aggregates, density)
Ensure acceptable test reports and material certifications are received from suppliers
Submit material test reports within one day of testing
Measure and compute quantities, document materials, and maintain item record account using Field Manager software
Track insufficient tested materials bi-weekly
Prepare periodic, intermediate, and final reports
Maintain project files per MDOT Office Manual and Departmental procedures
Submit all project records (except original load tickets) within 60 days of project closeout; As-Built Construction Drawings electronically in ACAD and PDF
Final field measure applicable items and prepare final summaries
Participate in and resolve issues during MDOT's review prior to Final Estimate submission
Prepare and submit Final Estimate, Final Quantity Sheets, Final Marked As-Constructed Plans, and Design/Construction Package Evaluation within 30 days of Final Records Review
Deliver As-Builts in PDF & DWG formats
