The agency is seeking a vendor to provide deployment and implementation assistance services for its new transit fare collection system. The engagement requires professional program management and implementation support to facilitate the rollout of a phased fare collection system beginning June 1, 2026, in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This project signifies an important operational change as the agency transitions from a fare-free model to a multichannel payment system.
The fare technology infrastructure, provided by the agency, will encompass validator hardware and back-office software to enable open-loop bankcard payments, mobile ticketing, closed-loop smart cards, limited-use media, partnerships for retail cash-loading, and related operational services, including inventory and asset management, invoicing, and customer care modules. The selected consultant will also collaborate with the agency's marketing team to prepare comprehensive customer-facing materials—such as website updates, social media content, press releases, and onboard signage—to effectively communicate changes in fare media, products, and payment options.
