DESCRIPTION


The government authority in McAllen, Texas is seeking a qualified vendor to provide delinquent tax collection services. The selected firm will be responsible for working with county tax collection entities, who will supply all relevant delinquent tax data. The vendor must identify and advise the county tax assessor–collector’s office on errors, double assessments, and other discrepancies discovered during the tax collection process. Additionally, they will facilitate the exchange of information developed about property owners and properties that may aid in collection and foreclosure efforts.

The scope of work includes offering legal assistance and opinions to both the college and the tax assessor–collector within 5 to 10 working days on issues involving ad valorem taxes. The provider is also required to maintain a public website with accessible property tax sale and resale information, including posting tax sale property listings. Further responsibilities include advising on legal matters arising during delinquent tax collection and delivering any additional services as deemed necessary by the tax assessor and collector to expedite or enhance the process. The contract period is set for one year.
