DESCRIPTION


A government authority in California seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive database administration consultant services for Azure Cloud SQL and Azure Data Lake/Synapse environments. The project encompasses database administration, performance tuning, optimization, and support to transition legacy environments to cloud-based solutions. Services include provisioning Azure cloud resources such as SQL databases, Data Lake Storage, Synapse, Fabric, and Databricks, as well as deployment support for new Data Science, Program and Project Management, Toll Operations, and Enterprise IT initiatives.

The vendor will conduct performance and validation testing to ensure the integrity and completion of migrated databases. Additional responsibilities include end-user support, troubleshooting database performance and connectivity issues, configuring and maintaining automated backups, index tuning, storage filegroup and partition management, and regular reporting on maintenance and backup activities. The consultant will also design data pipelines for automated data ingestion, transformation, and reporting, provide system administration in Azure, and implement resource planning and deployment utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) methodologies.

The contract will have a duration of five years. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2026, with final questions due by March 31, 2026.
