DESCRIPTION


The government authority in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a qualified vendor to provide as-needed professional engineering services for dam support at its four high hazard dams. The selected firm will support the water treatment services unit across various engineering disciplines, including geotechnical, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, security, and electrical, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal dam requirements.

Scope of work covers preparing preliminary plans and cost estimates, conducting necessary fieldwork, drafting, design, surveying, bid assistance, construction inspection and administration, and overall project management. Specialized engineering studies may be required, including structural assessments, stability analyses, condition assessments of materials, safety and security inspections, and asset management for dam equipment.

On-site, part-time engineering support will be provided as needed. The vendor will also help prepare public engagement materials and assist with the coordination and facilitation of public meetings. Responsibilities further include construction administration, reviewing and approving material submittals, daily construction documentation, contractor coordination, and preparing required project certifications. Surveying activities such as topographic surveys, title searches, easement document preparation, and construction staking are included. The initial contract period is three years.
