A government authority in San Clemente, California seeks a vendor to provide cultural resource management plan services for a park unit. The scope includes reviewing existing documentation such as maps, GIS data, cultural resource records, archaeological reports, surveys, ethnographies, and environmental studies. The vendor will assist State Parks staff in coordinating with tribal governments and representatives, and document Traditional Cultural Properties or areas of tribal significance as appropriate.
Additional responsibilities include understanding regulatory and environmental/cultural frameworks, inventorying cultural resources, and creating Avoidance Area maps with buffers to assist maintenance staff without revealing sensitive resource details. The vendor will conduct cultural resource training for new staff hires, provide GIS data files, site forms, and metadata, and develop management recommendations to avoid and minimize impacts on cultural resources from anticipated park activities over the next 25 years. This includes routine maintenance, public recreation, special events, natural resource management, and infrastructure projects.
