The selected vendor will provide crisis communications services focused on the development and execution of emergency communication strategies. This includes drafting and disseminating time-sensitive messaging, coordinating media relations and press activities during crises, and working with internal campus leadership, system office leadership, public safety agencies, and external partners to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
Additional responsibilities include social media monitoring and digital response during emergencies, supporting emergency notification systems and public alerts, and delivering training for campus emergency alert authorities. The vendor will also design, facilitate, and conduct tabletop exercises and functional drills to test and improve institutional response capabilities.
Consultants are expected to offer 24/7 immediate crisis response and strategic support to help manage reputation, communication, and stakeholder trust in the aftermath of crisis events. The scope also encompasses providing spokesperson training for police chiefs and university leaders, as well as producing after-action reports and recommendations for improvement.
