DESCRIPTION


A government authority in Olympia, WA is seeking a vendor to undertake a comprehensive renovation and service provision for a crime laboratory facility. The project involves the full renovation of a 154,000 square foot agency building, encompassing a range of specialized areas including administration, property evidence, toxicology, firearms firing range, impaired driving section, materials analysis, firearms and toolmarks, latent prints, forensic biology, training spaces, lobby, meeting and waiting areas, and associated building services such as a loading dock.

The renovated facility will house six forensic laboratories and two toxicology laboratories, along with supporting programs such as a breath test program, drug evaluation and classification (DEC) program, and an ignition interlock program. Approximately 22,500 gross square feet will be reserved for future expansion or other agency needs. The scope of renovation will necessitate full code compliance, including seismic retrofitting, life safety improvements, and building envelope and systems upgrades.
