A government authority in Trenton, NJ is seeking consultant services to support hazard mitigation planning, public outreach, and community engagement across multiple jurisdictions. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing a public outreach and engagement strategy that guarantees transparent, accessible, and inclusive participation by all relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include supporting local outreach activities, facilitating the collection of meaningful public input through methods such as online surveys, public notices, and stakeholder meetings, and thoroughly documenting all public engagement efforts. The consultant will prepare monthly progress reports detailing completed tasks, deliverables, and upcoming actions, as well as submit invoices reflecting hours worked by task.

The scope of work further requires organizing and facilitating regular meetings such as onboarding workshops and mitigation strategy sessions for each participating jurisdiction, along with technical assistance to support the completion of jurisdictional annexes. Additional tasks involve reviewing and updating hazard profiles for schools and special districts using GIS and authoritative datasets, validating these findings with local input, assessing risks tied to future land use and demographic trends, and evaluating each jurisdiction's capacity for hazard mitigation. The consultant will also document relevant operational tools and identify gaps that may impact mitigation efforts, particularly for schools and special districts. The contract duration is one year, and questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted by February 10, 2026.
