DESCRIPTION

A government authority in Medicine Hat, Alberta is seeking consultant engineering services for the design, tender, and contract administration of a Class II landfill cell expansion. The selected consultant will evaluate and present multiple configuration options for the landfill cell, including variations in size, footprint, and phasing, with attention to the inclusion or exclusion of existing hydrovac sumps and drying pads within the new cell footprint.

The project also requires the consultant to assess implications of relocating hydrovac drying pits, considering regulatory, operational, and cost impacts, along with effects on landfill capacity, airspace utilization, and operational efficiency. A detailed engineering design must be completed, suitable for regulatory submission and construction, which includes a composite liner system, comprehensive evaluation of site geology and hydrogeology, slope stability analyses, and the design of a leachate collection and removal system (LCRS).

All questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by April 28, 2026.
