DESCRIPTION


The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for the construction of a new 10-bed Community Living Center (CLC) at the George H. O'Brien Jr. VA Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas. The project includes complete site preparation, demolition and removal of existing structures, as well as furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and testing required for the construction of the new CLC facility (Building 28). All work must conform to current VA Standards for CLC Facilities.

The project is anticipated to be a competitive, firm-fixed-price contract following a design–bid–build approach, with final specifications and drawings to be provided. The construction magnitude is estimated between $10 million and $20 million. Additional details regarding the procurement method and any socio-economic set-asides will be determined based on the results of ongoing market research.
