The city of Ashville, North Carolina seeks a consultant to provide comprehensive plan and development regulations services. The selected firm will support and represent the city in strategic communication planning, manage community input, and utilize industry best practices to gather insights into key issues, community concerns, suggestions, perceptions, and local needs.
The consultant will be responsible for updating the city's comprehensive plan, maintaining its overall vision, theme, and goals, except where new data or engagements warrant updates. Modernization of public access is a priority, requiring the creation of a centralized digital hub with intuitive, interactive tools to enhance public engagement and help stakeholders understand the link between long-range planning and current regulations. The project includes developing or recommending a hosted, interactive digital application for plan documents, and establishing factual baselines on growth and development to inform short- and long-term policy development.
