The province of British Columbia is seeking a comprehensive software solution to enhance safety procedures for lone workers across various platforms. The required software must support both mobile app and web interfaces, enabling automated staff check-ins, robust escalation protocols, and emergency response features. Compatibility with current versions of iOS and Android is essential, along with functionality for users to check in using mobile apps, SMS, phone calls, or desktop web browsers.
Administrators should be able to configure check-in intervals, start and stop times, and grace periods tailored to groups or individual employees. The solution must accommodate multiple accounts for both employees and monitors, allowing them to select the appropriate account for each shift. Flexible alert settings, including alternate grace periods for high-risk activities and employee-initiated early check-ins, are needed. Features should include auto-escalation after missed check-ins, real-time dashboards displaying status, alerts, and locations, as well as one-tap emergency notifications that immediately alert designated monitors.
Alert delivery should span multiple channels such as email, SMS, telephone calls, and Microsoft Teams, and allow for after-hours monitoring with automatic transitions between business and after-hours schedules. The software must support group organization for streamlined monitoring, comprehensive check-in/out activity logs, and reporting capabilities. There should be options to generate and export customizable logs, reports, and dashboards accessible to team managers and leadership for ongoing monitoring and optimization. Automated, sequenced alerting functionality that cycles through a predefined escalation list is also required to ensure thorough response protocols.
