An agency in Arizona is seeking a vendor to provide a comprehensive, cloud-native fare collection system for its transit services. The system must enhance the rider experience, reduce vehicle dwell time, and provide operational flexibility. It should support multiple fare media types, including mobile ticketing, contactless smart cards, mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as contactless credit and debit cards. The capability to send passes directly to mobile devices and to integrate seamlessly with the agency’s current rider-facing app is required.
The fare collection solution should be secure, scalable, and built on open architecture principles to facilitate future enhancements and integrations. It must support both closed-loop and open-loop fare payments and reliably operate in both online and offline environments, with secure data synchronization when connectivity is restored. Vendors are responsible for designing, furnishing, implementing, configuring, testing, and supporting the fare collection system, including all necessary software, hardware, integrations, and services. Data access via secure, documented APIs and export in common formats is required.
