The State of Maryland is seeking a vendor to provide a cloud-hosted upgrade solution for its ID card and locking system. This initiative focuses on delivering a comprehensive ID card system that includes advanced card management software, high-quality card printing equipment with encoding capabilities, and the production of secure, durable physical ID cards for students, faculty, and staff. The scope includes a software platform for card lifecycle management, integration with user databases, and robust reporting features. Please note that the replacement of ID card readers and physical access control systems is specifically excluded from this procurement.
The project aims to modernize the campus ID card system by addressing card production requirements, enhancing member experience, and exploring best-fit architectural options. An emphasis is placed on adopting non-proprietary, open technologies that also support mobile credentials and ensure compatibility with Apple ID, Android devices, and Apple Wallet for digital credential storage. The solution should enhance campus security and streamline operations through improved production quality and advanced security measures.
