It must be capable of accommodating varying application types—including zoning, variances, conditional uses, and business registrations—with configurable review steps, required supporting documents, and staff routing.

Key features should include dashboards for applicants and staff that display real-time application statuses, outstanding tasks, deadlines, and next steps, reducing the need for routine status inquiries. The software should feature automated notifications and correspondence tools, enabling customizable templates for acknowledgments, deficiency letters, hearing notices, approvals, and denials, triggered by workflow milestones and suitable for both internal and external communications.

The system should also include a meeting management module for planning and zoning commission sessions, supporting agenda creation, staff reporting, packet assembly, distribution, and archival.
