The City of Texas is seeking qualified vendors to provide a cloud-based parking access and revenue control system powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technologies or equivalent solutions. This project involves the design, installation, and ongoing support of a smart, real-time parking system that replaces the city’s existing parking management infrastructure.
The desired system should enhance parking management by enabling real-time space monitoring, data analytics, and optional user-facing applications to improve parking space utilization and turnover. Key features include overhead cameras equipped with AI-based image recognition for monitoring, in-ground sensors for individual space detection, and secure wireless communication protocols such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE-M, or Wi-Fi. The system must transmit occupancy data in real time to the facility management system, offer integration with digital signage to display garage space availability, and provide customizable, standard-format reports. Vendors are expected to support remote firmware and software updates, configure and calibrate the system, deliver SLA-based technical support and preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations as well as data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 5, 2026, and questions from prospective vendors must be submitted by February 19, 2026. The initial contract term will be for one year.
