DESCRIPTION

California is seeking a vendor to implement a cloud-based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to replace its existing solution. The proposed system must offer advanced functionalities such as the ability to release preliminary laboratory reports and update their status as Final, Corrected, or Amended. It should provide automated turnaround time alerts for overdue samples and enable automatic report delivery through a submitter portal and email notifications.

Key compliance features include generating audit-ready quality control and assurance summaries for ISO 17025, maintaining chain-of-custody logs, electronic signatures for QC/QA entries, and generating comprehensive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) records. The solution must also offer robust search capabilities, SOP document storage with version control, data archiving, and support mobile access on both iOS and Android platforms.

Additional requirements call for direct linking of reagent lot numbers to test results for traceability, limited read-only data access for customers, peer and supervisory review with a complete audit trail, and a multi-layer review and e-signature approval workflow. Furthermore, the system should support replication to a reporting-only database compatible with integration into a cloud-based data warehouse.
