The selected vendor will support group insurance plan administration by addressing employee inquiries, preparing necessary reports, providing total compensation statements, and delivering ongoing consulting and support throughout the plan year.
Key responsibilities include analyzing claims experience and administration to assess plan performance, identifying cost drivers, and recommending strategies to optimize efficiency and value. The vendor will also be expected to evaluate and propose sustainable, cost-effective funding strategies for the benefits program, including assessing alternative funding options as needed.
Additional duties encompass representing the city in insurance carrier negotiations to secure favorable premium rates, plan designs, and benefit structures. The vendor will also assist with program implementation and modifications, including the development of communication materials and participation in employee meetings and open enrollment events. The initial contract term is one year.
