The government authority in Joliet, Illinois seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive replacement services for its current Cisco 8540 wireless controllers, which support 585 Cisco wireless access points. The scope includes developing an implementation plan to replace the existing pair of 8540 controllers with two new Cisco CW9800M wireless controllers, ensuring uninterrupted wireless service across five campus locations for both indoor and outdoor environments.
The vendor is required to supply engineering and project management resources to drive the creation of a robust project plan, execute a successful cutover, and oversee guided post-project support. The engagement involves staging and upgrading the new controllers for compatibility with the existing access points, fully configuring and validating the deployment, and conducting a single-window cutover that includes testing and acceptance within the operational environment. At minimum, the cutover process will cover one campus site containing eighty-three wireless access points.
All vendor inquiries are due no later than March 20, 2026. The resulting contract will be for a period of two years.
