The project seeks a qualified vendor to evaluate the Central Medical Emergency Direction (CMED) system and develop a strategic plan for its future. The scope includes a comprehensive assessment of the CMED system's efficacy, structure, roles, relevance, funding, and both technical and financial components, as they pertain to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) communications.
The selected vendor will provide analysis and recommendations on Online Medical Control, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) patient destination coordination, resource distribution, and other key areas influencing EMS to hospital communication and coordination. The engagement will actively seek input from certified EMS personnel, licensed ambulance services, healthcare facilities, CMED operators, Regional EMS Councils, communications technical experts, municipalities, and the public to ensure a well-rounded evaluation. The plan will guide future improvements as part of the broader EMS Communications Plan.
The vendor will also be responsible for gathering information and commentary from relevant stakeholders and providing expertise on radio and communications technology as it relates to the current and future use of the CMED system.
