DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Costa Mesa, California is seeking a qualified vendor to perform safety inspection services for carnival and independent amusement rides on District property. The contractor will be responsible for inspecting rides throughout all stages of the construction process, including pre-assembly, assembly, final inspection, and approving rides for operation.

Inspectors must verify that all safety measures for each ride are met, such as ensuring safety devices, restraint systems, and safety/instructional signage are properly installed and compliant with manufacturer specifications. The installation of fencing, gates, and barriers must provide appropriate protection for riders and spectators and comply with industry standards. Only rides and attractions that have been approved by the contractor after inspection will be authorized for activation during events.

The contractor is also responsible for verifying that each ride has a current permit issued by the Division of Industrial Safety per labor code requirements before operation. In cases where corrective actions are necessary, the contractor must notify the District and the ride owner or operator (if different) of the required actions prior to approval and maintain records of these communications.
