The government authority in Oregon is seeking a vendor to provide business sector education and outreach services focused on reclaiming valuable materials from the waste stream and achieving long-term behavioral change among businesses. The initiative aims to increase compliance with Opportunity to Recycle requirements, enhance contamination reduction efforts, and boost participation in business recycling and waste prevention programs.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing recruitment and outreach strategies for priority business sectors, providing on-site waste assessments and operational evaluations, and prioritizing businesses that generate significant quantities of food waste and materials. The selected vendor will also establish clear standards and benchmarks for business certification, promote and recognize certified businesses through program marketing and outreach, and regularly update outreach materials to ensure ongoing effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Additional duties involve conducting site visits for targeted sectors, collecting and analyzing baseline and follow-up data to measure program outcomes, including diversion improvements, participation rates, and behavioral changes. The contract will span three years.
