DESCRIPTION

This RFP seeks a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive branding, wayfinding signage design, and implementation mapping services for a trail system in Pennsylvania. The engagement involves a thorough review of existing wayfinding, signage, branding efforts, and prior relevant studies, followed by stakeholder engagement sessions with municipalities and agencies to establish core brand values for the trail.

The selected firm will be responsible for developing a unified visual identity, including logo design, color palettes, typography, graphic elements, messaging, and corresponding brand guidelines. Deliverables will include mock-ups for key branding touchpoints such as trailhead signs, brochures, and digital assets. A public campaign is required for selecting the trail logo, featuring a digital vote, on-trail campaign, and extensive public and media outreach.

The wayfinding component involves defining a signage hierarchy, creating ADA-compliant and durable design concepts for various sign types, providing material and fabrication specifications, and producing a signage design manual to ensure future design consistency. For implementation, vendors must inventory and assess current trail conditions and decision points using a GIS-based system, map proposed signage locations, prioritize based on user flow and points of interest, and develop a phased implementation plan with cost estimates.
