The government authority in Battle Creek, Michigan is seeking a vendor to provide benefits insurance broker services. The selected broker will be responsible for researching and evaluating all available insurance markets, including current insurers, and providing appraisals on coverage availability, choices, costs, recommendations, changes in terms and conditions, and insurer status.
The broker must submit written comparisons of benefits and pricing between the current program and competitive bids, detailing any deviations from bid specifications, and make recommendations to the city. In partnership with the city, the broker will prepare reports of claims, loss, and premium activity, and keep the city informed about changes in market conditions, insurer statuses, and relevant legislative actions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with claims billings and administrative issues during coverage periods, analyzing insurance and other employment benefit programs, conducting financial underwriting and claims analysis, providing renewal analysis and negotiations, as well as producing budget projections, funding alternatives, large claims analysis, and quarterly performance reports. The contract period is for one year.
